Joffrey Ballet School’s SPECTRUM Winter Workshop will be a 2.5-day NYC Jazz & Contemporary Intensive modeled after our NYC Jazz & Contemporary Summer Intensive. Under the artistic direction of Angelica Stiskin, this event spans the worlds of both concert and commercial dance. Dancers will explore a full palette of techniques and genres, embracing the necessity for versatility. This will be held at our flagship location, and offer the same world-renowned faculty, while providing a jump-start to our Audition Tour!

Informal Studio Showcase of material learned in class for parents on Sunday Dec 16th, 2018

Time, and location will be announced at a later date.

Your schedule will include classes in a variety of genres.
  • Ballet Technique
  • Jazz, Contemporary, Modern
  • Hip Hop, Street Jazz
  • Theater Dance, Improvisation, Horton Technique, etc.
Bring appropriate shoes for the appropriate classes – ballet slippers, character shoes, street shoes, etc.
FEMALE
Ballet – Any style black leotard and pink tights, hair in a bun
Contemporary & Jazz (all dancers) – Neutral-colored form-flattering apparel that showcases the body in a professional way. NO loud colors or prints, or extra baggy clothing. If you feel it may be questioned, do not wear it. Hair pulled neatly off face.
Street Jazz & Hip Hop (all dancers) – Clothes that bring your personality to life. Commercial/Industry classes are an opportunity to highlight your own identity. Street Shoe easy to move in is required.
Theatre Dance (females) – Solid color top, leotard, crop top or tank with either tights, skirt or leggings. Nothing baggy. Character heels preferred but not mandatory.
All Other Classes (all dancers) – Apparel that represents the best version of you. Hair pulled neatly off face unless otherwise noted. No sports bras or half tops, please.
MALE
Ballet – Black tights, white or black form-fitting tank or tee
Contemporary & Jazz (all dancers) – Neutral-colored form-flattering apparel that showcases the body in a professional way. NO loud colors or prints, or extra baggy clothing. If you feel it may be questioned, do not wear it. Hair pulled neatly off face.
Street Jazz & Hip Hop (all dancers) – Clothes that bring your personality to life. Commercial/Industry classes are an opportunity to highlight your own identity. Street Shoe easy to move in is required.
Theatre Dance – Solid color and form-fitting apparel. Hair pulled neatly off face.
All Other Classes (all dancers) – Apparel that represents the best version of you. Hair pulled neatly off face unless otherwise noted.
Please also remember to bring your Yoga mat, as you will be having Pilates classes at least twice a week.

Non-Refundable Tuition and Other Fees

It is the policy of the Center for American Dance / Joffrey Ballet School that all tuition and other fees paid shall not be refunded at any time, regardless of the time of cancellation by the student or student’s parents or guardians or whether the relevant program has commenced. In the event that the relevant program has been cancelled by the Center for American Dance / Joffrey Ballet School, the School will make best efforts to move the student into a substantially similar program; in the event that no such substantially similar program exists, the School will issue a full refund.
In some instances we are able to offer a credit towards Joffrey programing which must be used in 1 calendar year. The Registration Fee, ALL DEPOSITS, and all Processing Fees are non-refundable and will be forfeited.
Prior to May 1st, a credit for any payments already made may placed in the dancer’s name to be used for future Joffrey programming. All payments made at the time of withdrawal are non-refundable. Any future payments still due to the school will be waived at the school’s discretion.
After May 1st, all payments are non-refundable. If a dancer’s withdrawal is due to injury or illness, and certified by a Dr’s. note, a partial credit may be used towards next summer at the Joffrey Ballet School’s Discretion. Credit can not be issued for housing and meal plans payments.

The Joffrey Ballet School prides itself in taking photos of the dancers that represent their superb experience and will utilize the photos for its website and or marketing and advertising purposes. Dancers and parents are welcome to take photos of the dance experience. When attending the program you consent to the use of your photography in our website and marketing materials.
