Stacy Caddell is a native of Norfolk, Virginia where she began her dance training at the age of 5. She later went to the School of American Ballet and was invited to join the New York City Ballet by George Balanchine. Stacy was promoted to soloist and danced many principal roles. She later left NYCB and joined Twyla Tharp and Dancers. She performed all over the world including a tour with Mikhail Baryshnikov in the show “Cutting Up”. Stacy stopped performing and assisted Ms. Tharp at American Ballet Theater on “Known by Heart” and at NYCB on “Beethoven’s Seventh”. Ms. Caddell also became the Dance Supervisor on the Broadway show “Movin’ Out” and staged it’s first National tour. She then became a repetiteur for Ms. Tharp staging her ballets for NYCB, ABT, Royal Danish Ballet, Maggio Danza, Les Ballets de Monte Carlo, Zurich Ballet, Ballet de Geneva, Berlin Stattsoper, Vienna Stattsoper, Ballet de Lorraine, Introdans, Sommerballet, Houston Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet, Pennsylvania Ballet, Pittsburg Ballet Theater, the Washington Ballet and the Nashville Ballet. Ms. Caddell also stages ballets for the Balanchine Trust. These ballets include “Serenade”, “Symphony in C”, “Allegro Brilliante”, “Tin Soldier” and “The Nutcracker”. Stacy has also choreographed the opera “Aida”, two episodes on the HBO series “The Sopranos”, the short film “Central Park” and four ballets for Ballet Academy East. She is currently the ballet master for the Joffrey Concert Group under the direction of Davis Robertson.
