Rujuta Vaidya is a globally recognized Bollywood choreographer and has been responsible for some of the biggest Bollywood musical extravaganzas in the Hollywood entertainment industry. She is a pioneer in bringing Bollywood to Hollywood. Rujuta has been trained in various indian classical and folk dance forms such as Kathak, Bharatnatyam and Lavnee. Although training throughout childhood in Indian dance, Rujuta went on to get her degree in Psychology from Boston University. After graduating college, she traveled to India and studied under Bollywood’s legendary choreographer Saroj Khan for many years. Rujuta is Saroj Khans only disciple outside of India. Rujuta’s diverse list of credits include: choreographing for some of Hollywood’s biggest icons such as Britney Spears, the Black Eyed Peas, John Legend and AR Rahman for the Oscars 2009 (Slumdog Millionaire). Her work is quite extensive including being the director/choreographer for the film English Vinglish starring Sridevi, Priyanka Chopras NFL promo In My City, AR Rahmans 2010 World Tour, Disney’s the Cheetah Girls 3-One World, the Oprah Winfrey show, Maximum India Festival at the Kennedy Center, Donna Karan’s and Gwenyth Paltrow’s Charity Fund Raiser, PBS TV movie Cosmopolitan and the Bollywood Awards.
