Nicholas Grubbs, originally from Southwest Virginia, is a New York City based dancer and choreographer holding a BFA in dance with a minor in psychology from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. Nicholas has had the privilege of performing works by choreographers such as Bill T. Jones, Merce Cunningham, Shannon Gillen, Seán Curran, and Deborah Jowitt, and training under renowned instructors including Gus Solomons Jr., Pamela Pietro, Phyllis Lamhut, Rashaun Mitchell, Ori Flomin, and Ami Shulman. He has trained abroad at the Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance as well as Springboard Danse Montréal, where he collaborated with Maxine & Conor Doyle of Punchdrunk and Banning Bouldin of New Dialect. Nicholas is currently dancing for LoudHoundMovement and Bryn Cohn + Artists while pursuing his own choreographic endeavors. Nicholas has presented work at various NYC venues, galleries, and public spaces including the Ailey Citigroup Theatre, the Jack Crystal Theatre, and Washington Square Park.
