Michael Biren, born and raised in New Jersey, found his love of the arts early on in his life. Starting his training at 3 years old and being raised by former artists he was constantly involved in theatre and dance throughout his childhood. Michael attended Muhlenberg College where he continued this study, and after graduating spent seven and a half months touring Asia with a production of Cinderella starring Lea Salonga. After returning to the states, Michael worked at several regional theaters including Ogunquit Playhouse, Maine State Music Theatre, and Goodspeed Opera House. He then moved to New York and left again on tour, this time with the National Tour of Billy Elliot, starring Faith Prince, a production that he would eventually become the dance captain for. Michael toured with Billy Elliot for three years until returning to New York. Since then he has performed at the Fulton Opera House, Maine State Music Theatre, Riverside Theatre, Goodspeed Opera House, The MUNY, and off-broadway at The Minetta Lane Theatre, as well as helping to re-set several productions of Billy Elliot around the country.
