JENNIFER CARLYNN KRONENBERG was born in Queens, New York, where she studied under Teresa Aubel, Barbara Walczack, Nicholas Orloff and Norman Walker. Upon concluding her ballet studies on scholarship at the School of American Ballet, she was chosen by Edward Villella to join Miami City Ballet as an apprentice in 1994. Ms.Kronenberg achieved the rank of Principal Dancer in 2001, held the title until her departure from the company in 2016. During her tenure with the internationally recognized MCB, she performed to great critical acclaim at both the Jacob’s Pillow and Aspen Festivals, Torino’s Danza Festival in Italy, the Kennedy Center’s International Ballet Festival and Balanchine Celebrations, the Vail International Dance Festival, the NYC City Center’s Fall for Dance performance series, and at Les Etes des Danses at the Theatre du Chatelet in Paris, France. Ms. Kronenberg also proudly represented Miami City Ballet during the company’s premiere at Lincoln Center’s Koch Theater, receiving acclaimed reviews. In March 2011 she was featured in PBS’s Great Performances “Dance in America: Miami City Ballet Dances Balanchine and Tharp. She has also been featured on numerous occasions in Pointe Magazine, DanceView Times, Dance Spirit Magazine, and graced the cover of DANCE Magazine’s October 2010 issue as the subject of its feature article. As a twice published University Press of Florida author, she has penned “So, You Want to be a Ballet Dancer?” and “Experiencing the Art of Pas de Deux”. Ms. Kronenberg also currently serves on the Advisory Board for Florida’s own World of Dance Magazine. In May 2016, she and her husband, Carlos Miguel Guerra, transitioned into the roles of co-Founding Artistic Directors of South Florida’s newest critically acclaimed contemporary ballet company, Dimensions Dance Theatre of Miami (DDTM). Under the couple’s direction, DDTM has been following a rapid trajectory of success. In addition to a residency at South Miami Dade Cultural Arts Center, the company has performed at The Joyce Theater in NYC and for The Jacob’s Pillow Inside/Out Festival. The company has also won both a 2017 Knight Arts Challenge award, and 2018 New Work Miami grant by The John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, funding “the best ideas in the arts”. In her hours away from DDTM, Ms. Kronenberg co-directs Mandelstam Dance Academy, and serves on the ballet faculty of Miami Youth Ballet.
