Chaz Buzan grew up in Scottsdale AZ and trained at Arizona Angels Dance Studio at the age of 13. He primarily studied jazz before finding his true passion for contemporary movement. Chaz’s early contemporary training came from his time with Dana Metz and Natasha Louis with the pre-professional company “Initial Existence.” Chaz has performed on various television, award shows, and other special events over the years including “The PULSE On Tour” where he began assisting Mia Michaels.
He then proceeded to train under Mia and work closely with her on various projects. His performance credits include Cirque du Soleil “Believe,” Florence + the Machine MTV VMA performance, Britney Spears’ “Hold It Against Me” Music Video, Demi Lovato – “Dancing with the Stars,” P!nk music video “What About Us,” and Madonna’s “MDNA World Tour 2012.” He was recently a principal dancer in the television pilot for Grace choreographed by Mia Michaels.
Chaz made his film debut in the short film “Secret Project Love Revolution” as “The Angel of Love” directed by Madonna. Buzan is the male principal dancer for Talia Favia’s contemporary dance company “The Difference Between.” While in this role, he has performed as the Lead male dancer in ‘The Difference Between Singing & Drowning’ in Scottsdale, AZ in 2013, followed by the companies debut in Hollywood, CA in 2014.
Chaz continues to travel the globe, sharing the information he has gained throughout his career; merging humanity with movement.
In a 2013 interview with Hip Hop City, Chaz shared his biggest inspiration for dancing:
“My biggest inspiration for dancing would have to be not just one thing but it always starts with the music. Music really inspires me and then it’s feeling. If I am feeling sad, happy or whatever I feel, it helps me express what the choreography looks like.”
What advice does Chaz have for young dancers?
“Train every single day. Train, train, train. Never take “no” for an answer. Never say ‘I can’t.’ Always try. And be happy. Make sure you do it and you’re always happy. But if you do get down and tired then just dance more.”
“I believe, you must first bring a Human quality to your Art, to then reach an audience by Performing realism, through Movement.”
