Angela Rebelo

Also a Company Member with Grand Theatre de Geveve (Geneva Ballet).

Angela is currently one of 22 professionals, dancing in Switzerland, for ‘Ballet du Grand Theatre de Genève’, in Geneva. > She is currently touring Europe and the world with Geneva Ballet; performing the various repertoire in China, Thailand, Zurrich, cities in France, and Italy. The Company will tour to Canada and a number of States in the US as well as to South Africa this year. > Angela has worked with known European Choreographers Ken Osalla, and Michel Kelemenis, performing the works of world wide known Andonis Foniadakis, Benjamin Millepied, as well as European names of Pontus , Emmanuel Gat, Didy Veldman.

Angela has been in Ballet Geneva’s classic contemporary interpretation of Romeo& Juliette, Giselle, A MidSummer Nights Dream, Les Sylphide, as well as the large variety of the Geneva’s creations. Angela was born in South Africa; where she began her professional Career with ‘Ballet Theatre Afrikan’ under the direction of Martin Schonberg. Angela received her Advanced II in the classical method of Cechettic Training with Mr Schonberg as well her Associates Teaching Qualification. In 2007 Angela was invited to join ‘State Street Ballet’ in Santa Barbara, California where she spent 5 Seasons. It was in California that Angela had the honor of meeting Mrs Josie Walsh and performing as ‘Lilias’ in Mrs Walsh’s story ballet ‘The Secret Garden’ , set on ‘State Street Ballet’ at the time. Angela enjoyed the roles of Arabian and Doll in ‘State Street Ballet’s ‘Nutcracker’ as well as ‘Kaa’ the python snake in the company’s ‘JungleBook’.

Angela also enjoyed teaching for the ‘Gustafson Dance’. Both for the students as well as Adult open classes; and she enjoyed guest teaching for ‘Dance ‘n Motion’ in Encinitas California under the ownership of Cassandra Ream. Angela returned to South Africa in 2012 to Guest perform with ‘Cape Town City Ballet’ in ‘Raymonda’ and with ‘Cape Dance Company’, a few works, one of which was choreographed by Christopher Huggins.. Based in New York. Another by Bradley Shelver who also resides in the US. After which, in August 2013, Angela moved to Europe to begin her contract with ‘Ballet du Grand Theatre de Genève’.
