JAMES LEO RYAN made his Broadway debut playing Rooster in Annie opposite Nell Carter. He played Smee in the Broadway National Tour of Peter Pan with Cathy Rigby, including its most recent run at Madison Square Garden. James played Thénardier at the National Theatre in Washington, DC, while on the Broadway National Tour of Les Misérables with Colm Wilkinson and Sutton Foster. His other Broadway National Tour credits include Pete in Hal Prince’s Show Boat with Cloris Leachman and Ned Beatty, and Reuben in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat with Sam Harris. James made his Carnegie Hall debut in Jubilee with Tyne Daly and Alice Ripley, directed by Herbert Ross. He played Jigger in Carousel with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, and also played the role in Los Angeles. James most recently played Fagin in Oliver at Houston’s Theatre Under the Stars. His other regional musical theatre credits include Thénardier in Les Misérables with the Anchorage Concert Association, John the Baptist in Mask at the Pasadena Playhouse, Grubman in Sisterella at the Pasadena Playhouse, Mordred in Camelot at the Walnut Street Theatre, Willard in Footloose at the California Theatre of the Performing Arts, Seymour in Little Shop of Horrors at the Depot Theatre, Will Parker in Oklahoma at the Depot Theatre, Snoopy in You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown at California Music Circus, and Ethan in The Full Monty at Musical Theatre West. His film credits include A Light Beneath Their Feet with Taryn Manning, No Ordinary Hero with Marlee Matlin, Species lll with Natasha Hendstridge, Death Row with Danny Trejo, and Psycho Beach Party with Lauren Ambrose and Amy Adams. James has guest starred on numerous television shows, including CSI, Medium, Numb3rs, ER, Charmed, Six Feet Under, The Shield, and Germany’s Next Top Model. He most recently guest starred on the web series, Ambiance Man, with Fred Armisen. James’ movies of the week include Though None Go WIth Me with Cheryl Ladd, and Haunted Prison with Stacey Keech. James made his television debut as a series regular on The Latin Connection. James has taught master classes and workshops in Musical Theatre at the Broadway Artists Intensive, the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts, Arizona State University, StudentsLive at the Pantages Theatre, and the Orange County School of the Arts.
